ABOUT US

Mentor Admissions provides personalized guidance to help students navigate college admissions with greater clarity and confidence. We help students build balanced college lists, explore majors and careers, craft authentic essays, and stay organized throughout the process. Beyond admissions, we provide career coaching, including internship and job search strategy, résumé and LinkedIn optimization, networking, and interview preparation.

UpstartU, our entrepreneurship program, helps students develop and launch their own business or nonprofit ideas while building real-world skills. TeachForth, our student-led technology mentoring program, connects high schoolers with students in underserved areas to teach coding while developing leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Our team also offers specialized support for student-athletes, visual and performing artists, and students who think and learn differently.

Founder Jennifer Hassell is a Westport native and Staples High School alum with deep roots in the community. She is a University of Virginia graduate with a BA in English, holds a College Advising Certificate from Teachers College, Columbia University, and is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).

FAVORITE COLLEGE PREP TIP

Start early, but don't panic. Use the first few years of high school to explore interests, take appropriately challenging classes, and get involved in activities your student genuinely enjoys. A strong college application is built over time, not manufactured during senior year.
