My name is Emma Kantor and I am soon graduating Staples High School with the class of 2025. Next year, I will be attending Lehigh University in Bethlehem Pennsylvania to be part of the class of 2029. 

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is located in the heart of the capital of Madison. 

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is the perfect if you are interested in a school with incredible academics and opportunities and great spirit and sports. This school and location truly has it all. There are many great food options, a beautiful lake, year-round sports games, shopping areas, and more. It is a perfect mixture of work-hard, play-hard. They are known for their Jump Around song towards the third quarter of every home football game. 

If you want to be walking distance from campus, The Graduate Hotel is the classic way to go. It perfectly exemplifies the Wisconsin school spirit. A stay here is necessary for the full college preview experience. It houses a restaurant called Camp Trippalindee which has a menu filled with Wisconsin's classic eats like cheese curds, burgers, and beer brats. The Graduate also has a breakfast and lunch cafe called Poindexter. With a beautiful view of the lake and less than a 10 minute walk from campus, The Graduate Hotel is a perfect and reliable stay while visiting the University of Wisconsin campus.

If you want to be in the heart of the city of Madison, The Edgewater Hotel is a perfect stay. It is walking distance from the Capitol and just a five minute drive from the University of Wisconsin campus. This hotel offers a variety of dining options from classic Wisconsin food to pizza to grab and go breakfast items. There are incredible amenities like a spa and wellness center incase college touring gets stressful. Public access to Lake Mendota is a complementary part of staying at this hotel. The Edgewater is a great stay if you are looking for a comfortable and relaxing college visit.

For a comfortable and casual stay, you definitely should check out The AC Hotel in downtown Madison. It is a five minute drive to the University of Wisconsin campus and walking distance from the Capitol. The AC Hotel dining includes a rooftop restaurant with amazing views of the skyline called Eno Vino. There is also a fitness center in the hotel. The AC is a great and easy hotel to stay in during a visit to the University of Wisconsin.

  2. Visit Lake Mendota. Depending the time of the year, either go sailing/boating or ice skating on the lake

  4. Check out the Union Terrace for great views

  5. Visit the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus!

Bar Corallini is a great Italian dinner option located 10 minutes away from the University's campus. It is known for its handcrafted pasta, Italian cocktails, and warm environment.
