HOW SCAMMERS ARE USING AI TO STEAL COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID
It was an unusual question coming from a police officer. Heather Brady was napping at home in San Francisco on a Sunday afternoon when the officer knocked on her door to ask: Had she applied to Arizona Western College? She had not, and as the officer suspected, somebody else had applied to Arizona community colleges in her name to scam the government into paying out financial aid money.

MENTAL HEALTH ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES
Adjusting to college life can be challenging, as students navigate newfound independence and more rigorous courses. It can feel especially daunting for students who face mental health challenges, which for many were heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Campuses are facing what many experts call a mental health crisis. For example, 70% of students said they've struggled with mental health since starting college, according to a U.S. News/Generation Lab report.

OHIO STATE ANNOUNCES EVERY STUDENT WILL USE AI IN CLASS
Starting this fall, every Ohio State student will be asked to use artificial intelligence. “Through AI Fluency, Ohio State students will be ‘bilingual’ — fluent in both their major field of study and the application of AI in that area,” Ravi V. Bellamkonda, executive vice president and provost, said. Ohio State’s AI Fluency Initiative will embed AI education throughout the undergraduate curriculum. The program will prioritize the incoming freshman class, and OSU said from 2029 onward, every Ohio State graduate will be fluent in the application of AI in their field.
