STUDENTS WOULD PAY A HIGHER PRICE TO ATTEND A COLLEGE ALIGNED WITH THEIR POLITICS
College students are willing to pay more than an additional $2,000 in tuition to attend a college where fewer students hold political beliefs that oppose their own, according to a new working paper analyzing how students’ political views impact college choice. Researchers conducted an experiment in which current college students were presented the details of hypothetical institutions of higher education, including academic quality, location, cost and the political makeup of the student body.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE COLLEGE TOWNS HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON: YUP THEY’RE ON THE BEACH
Santa Barbara, CA, is the most expensive college town in the U.S., according to a new report. Santa Barbara’s median home-sale price is nearly $2 million, more than double the next-most expensive college town. Among the priciest college towns, second-place Boca Raton, FL, home to Florida Atlantic University and its 30,000-plus students, has a median home-sale price of more than $820,000. The two most expensive college towns in the country have one big thing in common: they’re on the beach — that’s enough to push real estate prices into the stratosphere.

THE U.S. NEEDS 5.3 MILLION MORE WORKERS WITH SOME COLLEGE EDUCATION BY 2032
The U.S. will need about 5.3 million more workers with some level of postsecondary education by 2032, according to a new report which projects that between 2024 and 2032, 18.4 million experienced workers with postsecondary education will retire from the workforce, while only 13.8 million younger workers with equivalent postsecondary educational qualifications will enter the labor market.
